IS THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?
Therapy is a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and worries without shame or judgment. The decision to seek out therapy is a personal choice made by many teens, young adults, and their families. Sometimes my clients choose to work on a long-standing mental health struggle such as depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, or grief and loss issues. Other times individuals seek out therapy as a way to develop strategies for personal growth and/or life skills. Sometimes therapy is useful during times of significant transition or stress such as a divorce in the family, the loss of a loved one, launching into adulthood, bullying, or trauma. Therapy is right for anyone who has a desire to learn more about themselves and make positive changes in their overall wellness, relationships, or daily life.
WHEN IS THERAPY OVER?
Therapy is a safe place where my clients "come, grow, and go." I believe in empowering my clients with the skills they need to conquer any life challenges that may come their way. Therapy is not over when every element of a client’s life is perfect it’s over when you feel ‘good enough’. Rather therapy is complete when a client can say, "Even though I know challenging situations will come my way in the future, I know have the tools to conquer them." Also, you’ll never be alone, there is no shame in returning to therapy when life throws you curveballs.
DO YOU OFFER IN-PERSON OR ONLINE THERAPY?
Distance Counseling/ Online therapy is often a benefit for those who may find it difficult to attend regular appointments in person, and prefer the comfort of their own home or office. At present, I only offer Online Counseling/Virtual Therapy, although this will change in the future. Please be sure to test your preferred form of contact before each session. Choose a place that has privacy, a strong Internet connection or phone signal, and is comfortable and quiet. You will be responsible for signing into our secure video platform to meet with me at your scheduled appointment time.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
At present, I only accept private pay clients, I do offer a sliding scale for those on limited income, and take many forms of payment such as credit cards, bank transfers, cash apps, and PayPal. I do not bill insurance, however, I provide you with a statement at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance company to claim back out of network. I also provide a superbill so you can understand how much therapy could cost, there’s no surprises, no hidden fees!
HOW DO YOU ENSURE MY CONFIDENTIALITY?
All forms of communication and correspondence are HIPPA-compliant, emails are sent using encrypted software, text messages are encrypted, and your client files are stored electronically using encrypted software.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
My fee reflects your financial circumstances, as I mentioned I offer a sliding scale fee structure. Typically a session costs $110, I also offer a 10% discount on blocks of four sessions paid in advance. Let’s talk, I’m sure we can find an affordable solution.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
This is the hardest question to answer, how long is a piece of string? In all honesty, it depends on you, your attendance, motivation, and commitment. I hold regular reviews to monitor progress towards achieving your goals.
